Attracting nearly 100,000 attendees from across the world the Autumn Festival in Paris is an all-encompassing celebration of France's prolific body of talent in the areas of visual arts, music, dance, cinema and theatre. Organized in association with the French Ministry of Culture and Communication this annual festival includes over 40 separate events that display France's multifaceted and multidisciplinary prowess in various art forms. Founded by Michel Guy in 1972, this blend of artistic expression is held between the months of September and December every year with the active participation of some of Paris's finest artists, thinkers, filmmakers and performers.

The 2010 instalment of the festival is set to be bigger than ever with the crme de la crme of Paris's artistic community exhibiting their latest works to an ever-growing audience from all over the globe. Dance greats that will grace the stage of this year's festival include Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Mette Ingvartsen, Robyn Orlin, Jrme Bel and Alain Buffard with 'All is Well' while Julie Nioche, Merce Cunningham and Miguel Gutierrez are also among the hot picks at this year's event. Boris Charmatz, Raimund Hoghe and Mathilde Monnier are also set to take centre stage this autumn as well as the stunning Caterina Sagna. Playwrights that are on this year's list include Luc Bondy, Amir Reza Koohestani, Toshiki Okada and Nikola Kolyada with his interpretation of Hamlet. Other highlights include Autumn Dream by Patrice Chreau and the Mist of God by Claude Rgy in addition to theatrical offerings by Enrique Diaz, Peter Brook, Claudio Tolcachir, Simon Mc Burney and Marcial di Fonzo and countless others.

Visitors can also expect to attend musical concerts and performances by Frederic Rzewski, Johannes-Maria Staud, Misato Mochizuki, Gyrgy Kurtg, Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Bruckner with Helmut Lachenmann. Contemporary cinematic creations are also on offer during the Autumn Festival, which is set to screen Alexandre Sokourov's Hidden Pages, Werner Schroeter's The Glowing Beauty and other works of filmmakers such as Tacita Dean and Lundestam Barbro Schultz. Walid Raad headlines this year's visual arts exhibits while festivalgoers can also purchase the works of pop art and poster culture icons such as Alexander Ponomarev, Ernesto Neto, Mario Mertz and Robert Wilson and many others at the event.
