subject: Tips And Etiquette For Wedding Invitations [print this page]

One of the most important facets in preparing for your wedding is your invitations. These will be the tool used to invite your guests to join with you and celebrate the happiest moment of your life. Upon receiving their invitations, your guest will have a first glimpse of your big day since first impressions are normally based on how it is designed. Remember that whatever invitation you as a couple have decided it will reflect each of your personalities.

Once the wedding date, wedding party, and guest list are finalized, do not delay in ordering for your wedding invitation. If possible, the wedding invitation vendor of your choice must receive these orders months before the wedding. Wedding invitation takes time to finish. Inform your vendor that all the invitations must be delivered 4 weeks before the big day so that your guests will be given time to prepare their schedule and make themselves available for your wedding. With this deadline, the vendor will know how many weeks they have to complete the task.

It is mandatory that the contents of your wedding invitation should include the following: date, time, venue, and the theme. This will ensure that the guest will be wearing the proper attire to your wedding. If you want to add additional information such as who will be part of the wedding party and will be the hosts, then it will depend on you. However, this is not really necessary. If you want to put inspiring quotations about what is happening in both of your lives, then you may do so. This is actually common now a day.

When ordering wedding invitations, here are some guidelines to help you out:

Information your invitation must have the necessary information needed for your guests to know about your wedding. Make sure that you have finalized all your information and guest list before ordering the invitations. You do not want to have mistakes on your invitation.

When placing an order for your invitation, it does not necessarily mean that you have to give one for all of your guests. If you have guests that are already a couple, give one invitation for them. A guest that is 18 years of age shall be given a separate invitation.

Ask your wedding invitation vendor if they offer other services that are related to weddings. This will be an added advantage as you can negotiate price discounts if you want to get more services from them. At least you would not have to worry about finding other vendors that offers the same services as the one you already got.

Remember do not think of this activity as work. But think of it as recreational activity. Shopping for wedding invitations should be fun, so enjoy it. Do not stress yourself out as it can affect your decisions.
