There`s probably little point in me harping on about healthy weight loss, sensible eating and moderate exercise being the best way to lose fat, because you know that already.
When a client asks me how to achieve quick fat loss, my heart sinks, because I know that they aren`t interested in any of the above options. All they want to know is the fastest way to get the weight off. Not the safest, nor the best way, just the fastest.
Well, if this applies to you--what are your options?
You could go on a fast, which literally means to starve yourself and you would see weight loss. A couple of days probably won`t do you any harm, but any longer and you put your health in danger. With most obsessive dieters, the only thing of importance is the weight loss, so the fact that they are doing untold and possibly permanent damage to their body, just doesn`t come into it.
Also, with the starvation method, it`s not fat that you would lose, but sugar, bodily fluids and lean tissue (muscle). The body, not realising that you`re trying to drop a few pounds, will do all that it can to keep you alive. This involves hanging on to its fat reserves for as long as possible and dropping your metabolism to a lower rate so that you preserve as much energy as you can.
Continue like this for some time and your body will eventually have to give up its fat reserves and you will be thin--but at what cost?
Of course you could exercise like a mad person and providing you were using up more calories than you were taking in you would lose weight. But your joints would possibly be in a poor state of repair and you would find yourself too exhausted to do much else.
I`m discounting surgery and other procedures for no other reason than I believe you have more sense than to go under a surgeons knife purely for vanity.
So, when my clients ask what is the quickest way to lose fat, I tell them sensible eating and moderate exercise. Ok, it may be boring, but I promise you, it`s the only thing that guarantees, safe and permanent fat loss.
