The Rise Of Korean Carmakers In The American Auto Market

Cars made by Korean carmakers are slowly making their way into the American auto market. Although Japanese cars still dominate the market for imported Asian cars, Korean ones are holding the fort. Korean car brands are now becoming well known among American consumers and are very competitive against their Japanese, European and American competitors.

South Korea is currently a successful exporter of automobiles. The country is ranked fifth largest in the world in terms of production volume. In terms of export volume, it is ranked sixth.

Since the first Korean car was produced in the late 1950s, South Korea has evolved as a major player in the automotive industry. It boasts of having some of the most advanced automobile production facilities in the world. It is also rare for people not to be familiar with Korean car brands given their rising global presence and aggressive marketing campaigns.

In the United States, a lot of businesspeople in the auto industry have seen the profit-making potential of Korean car brands. The likes of Indianapolis Hyundai dealers, Los Angeles Daewoo dealers and Miami Kia dealers are proof of this rising American demand for Korean-made cars. Some car dealerships that used to sell American, European and Japanese brands are also making the switch to selling Korean brands.
The Rise Of Korean Carmakers In The American Auto Market

It is no surprise that Americans are looking at Korean cars. The sleek design and fuel efficient engines of Korean cars, coupled with aggressive marketing strategies of carmakers, especially during special events like the Super Bowl and the US Open, have caught the interest and imagination of Americans. Proof of this is the increasing number of consumers who are flocking to the likes of Indianapolis Hyundai dealers to check out the latest Korean car models.

The existence of the likes of Indianapolis Hyundai dealers and Kia television ads is proof of the slow but sure rise of Korean carmakers into the American auto market. Sooner or later, seeing Korean cars are just as common as seeing those coming from Japan and Europe and even locally made ones. With new realities such as the demand for better fuel efficiency and rising fuel costs sinking in, expect Korean-made cars to capture the interest of American consumers and become more competitive in terms of sales and performance against cars coming from the United States, Europe and Japan.
