I just finished watching "Knight and Day" I was actually impressed with how much fun the story was, you should watch Knight and Day online if you have time. I totally expected this to be campy and generic. This film is a ride that has never ending plot twists keeping your attention thanks to quirky characters played by the lead actors. As for an action movie it provides fairly intense special effects as well as well written comedy. Like most people I had written off Tom Cruise and wasn't really looking forward to this, but he has earned my respect again,as he brings back the flair that made him so successful in the first place.
The plot of "Knight and Day" starts off with June Havens(Cameron Diaz), who is boarding a plane to see her sister April get married. She ends up sitting next to Roy Miller (Tom Cruise).It doesn't take long and she finds herself in the middle of a cat and mouse game that keeps you guessing who the 'real' bad guys are.
This movie took it's time introducing the characters and brought a sometimes over the top approach to the action comedy genre. All of the acting was really decent in my opinion and none of the characters seemed like the caricatures they normally do in movies within this genre. The movie is just under 2 hours, but the pacing is done in such a way that when it's over you don't see it coming.
The only movie I can really compare this to is Mr & Mrs Smith. It's sorta the same one liner comedy, but with much more intense action. Again, like I said before, Tom Cruise is back and probably better than ever.
The movie is out in theaters now, and I can faithfully recommend it to any couple for a fun date.
