Going through a break up is one of the toughest hurdles you will probably have to overcome in your life. If this is happening to you at the moment, then my heart goes out to you. Like many folks, I have been through a break up and I know how difficult a time this really is for you. After a break up, what to do and who to turn to are some one of the more significant challenges that you will face at this point in time.
Having said that, there is one most important decision that you have to find an answer to and that is whether the relationship is over for good or is the break up part of learning to understand each other better so that you can work to improve your relationship and make it stronger for the future. Is this break up permanent or would you like to repair the damage and make your relationship work? That is the first question that you really need to find an answer to.
If you want to try and make your relationship work, then I would suggest that you take baby steps to get you from the break up stage to get you on the path to make up.
Too often, people in your very position have the big bust up and try and move on without really making up. The problem there is that the issues that caused the break up in the first place have not been addressed and like a sleeping lion they remain suppressed until something goes wrong in the future causing them to explode again.
So in the rebuilding stage, small baby steps are required to get you back in the ball game and on the road to loving each other again. Something like have a coffee together rather than going straight to a full on date is exactly what I am talking about here. Get back to talking with each other and more importantly listening to each other. That is what is needed in these initial baby steps to getting you back together.
Once you have started this process, continue with baby steps until such time as all of the issues in your relationship have been addressed and both of you are comfortable with what you plan to put in place to ensure the issues will not be repeated in the future.
After a break up what to do and what not to do can be difficult to work out. Taking baby steps to make up will be much better in helping you to get through this difficult time in your life.
At times like this, knowing where to turn and who to turn to can be difficult.
