subject: Natural Treatments For Psoriasis [print this page]

Psoriasis is a condition which has plagued almost everyone at one time or another and dogs some of us all of our lives. Well I have some good news for many of you in that there are ways to treat this condition naturally and inexpensively. I like to think of the body in much the same way that you would think of a highly sophisticated and complicated machine. There are many parts to the whole and each part can be affected by various situations. In order to treat one disease we must treat the entire body. Therefore in order to treat a skin disease you must take into account factors such as exercise and nutrition, but we will get to these factors just a little later.

Psoriasis is a skin disease which is characterized by scaling, blotches, and rough dry skin. It typically appears on the hands, feet, elbows, knees, and scalp but is not limited to these areas.

This disease is not passed from person to person and will have outbreaks at certain times especially in the winter. If you have an outbreak before the weather turns cold it will become more acute during the winter.

The good news is that it can be treated naturally with varying degrees of success. The foremost way to treat this disease is with the use of essential oils. Some oils which are excellent for the treatment of this condition are vitamin E oil, tea tree oil, black seed oil, almond oil, and aloe vera oil. All of these products have soothing healing properties for rough dry skin. They are all excellent moisturizers and contain nutrients which are beneficial to healthy skin. Most of them also have germ fighting properties and promote the growth of bacteria which is beneficial to the skin. You would do well to keep these ingredients handy and to use them as a part of your daily maintenance regimen for your skin.

You must also pay attention to your diet and exercise. Have you heard the saying that you are what you eat? Nothing else can be so close to the truth. Your skin will show the type of diet that you have. A good clean healthy diet will display itself with clean healthy skin. People who are chronically ill have skin conditions which show the sickness on the inside. Diet will start the internal relationship that you have with your skin. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are absolutely the worst things that you can ingest into your body. Just look at the skin of drug addicts, and alcoholics. It tells the story of the life that they have lived. The human body is a remarkable machine in that it recovers quickly and well from the abuse that we heap on it but even the human body can only take so much.

Exercise is important for the skin in that it burns fat, increases circulation which brings in nourishment to the skin cells and removes harmful toxins which are the by products of work. It also increases the metabolism which helps with nutrient uptake and speeds up cell growth and repair. When you exercise it increases the production of hormones which are beneficial to good health and growth. The human body is made for the purpose of work so exercise wont hurt you at all. Exercise also helps to treat conditions such as arthritis because muscle and joint movement increases the production of natural lubricants and endorphins.

Natural oils provide vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that the body needs. Complement this with a good diet and you will provide a one two combination for your overall health and the health of your skin. Fragrance Oil Express
