subject: Wedding Photography Do's And Don'ts For The Bride [print this page]

As you probably already have found out, everyone is going to be giving you tips, tricks, advice and suggestions about every aspect of your wedding. However, very few people will be able to give you advice on relaxing and having perfect wedding pictures taken of you and your husband on your wedding day. Every bride realizes her wedding day is one of the most important days in her life, and then she begins to worry about every little detail. This is what we are going to try and help her avoid, so her anxiety, stress and whatever other emotions she is feeling are not captured in her photographs.

The first tip is a lot easier said than done. Simply relax. It is important that you are calm and collective in your photographs, otherwise you will be able to see everything you are thinking about in your wedding photographs, almost clearly written on your face. Thankfully, the people you show your wedding pictures to will not be able to see everything you will. As a bride, you are going to scrutinize everything, and that is completely natural.

When you are being photographed by your wedding photographer or anyone you need to focus on you and your husband. Think back to the day he proposed to you, think about a vacation the two of you went on or anything that brings you back to falling in love with him. Moments like those are the ones we hold close to our heart and typically a woman will glow when she reminisces about the important things in her life. That glow is what you are going for.

The next tip is to have fun with your pictures. All to often, wedding pictures look like they are posed and forced if you will. Go for a more fun approach to your wedding pictures. A great posed but fun picture is one that captures the groomsmen holding the bride up as she lays across them with a sparkle in her eye. The smile is often one that can not be forced, thus the glow is present in the photo.

If you are going for some traditional style posed wedding pictures take a breath. Especially if you have younger children in your wedding party. It is often difficult to keep a youngsters attention on standing still for the picture. Frustration will show in your wedding pictures so try to keep in mind the child is just a child.

If you have any must have pictures you want your photographer to take, make sure you have a list to give to him or her. You might think some of the pictures are givens but you should still make sure you have them written down for the photographer so he or she does not forget about them or be elsewhere when the shot is perfect for capturing.
