subject: Hair Replacement And Inner Beauty [print this page]

It is truly amazing how we all have varying tastes when it comes to finding a person attractive, some people are fond of the hirsute, whereas some think that fully waxed is the way forward. Is hair replacement therefore necessary for men or women who have thinning or receding hairlines? Surely with a world full of people that have a wide variety of tastes, those suffering from hair loss need not worry about losing their locks.

The best way, as always is to take a look at celebrities. There are so many men and women that grace the red carpet sporting nothing more than a very close shave, that is seems reasonable to think that hair replacement is only for the vain. OK, it is true that ladies such as Demi Moore, Sigourney Weaver and Sinead O'Connor chose to sport the bald look rather than flowing tresses, but can this be just the boost that other women need to feel fine and beautiful about being bald?

It should be taken into account that the element of choice is a very important factor when it comes to hair replacement. The aforementioned ladies chose the short look, and were able to grow their luscious locks back whenever they wanted. Another famously bald female celebrity is Gale Porter who is bald and proud. She suffers from a type of alopecia that affects all the hair on her body. So not only does she have a bald head, she has no eyelashes, eyebrows or body hair at all.

For some women this would mean that they turn to hair replacement, whether it is wearing a wig or trying to get follicular transplants; but for this woman, an optimistic attitude has meant that she does not feel it necessary to replace lost hair. This is where we can really understand what hair replacement is about, and where true beauty lies. They say, and it is a well known cliche, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This statement is true, but it is not the full story.

It takes inner confidence to exude beauty, and for some people that suffer from hair loss, hair replacement helps to boost self esteem. It is not a matter of whether or not certain people find the bald look more attractive than a bouffant, it is about how someone suffering from hair loss feels about their own appearance and what they feel they need to boost their confidence.
