subject: Weight Loss Options - Control the Size and Quantity of Your Fat Cells [print this page]

Fat cells have a direct impact on your weight loss. Your fat cells (adipocytes) regulate how much fat comes in and goes out your fat management system, so to speak. Your fat management system determines the size of your fat cells and the quantity of them in your body. Fat cells specialize in storing energy as fat. There are communication protocols within your fat management system. Your fat cells communicate with your brain to shut down your appetite when you have eaten enough. Fat cells also triggers the fat-burning operations to use up the fat stored in your fat cells. Weight loss is impaired if your fat management system is not operating properly. Aging can disrupt your communication signals and degrade, or turn off, the various mechanisms that your body uses to keep you slim and trim.

White Fat Cells and Brown Fat Cells

There are two types of fat cells white fat cells and brown fat cells. The white fat cells store triglycerides, and secrete resistin, adiponectin and leptin. Resistin and adiponectin affect your metabolic processes and appetite. White fat cells can grow to four-times their size before they divide and form new fat cells. Brown fat cells are used to generate heat.

Weight Gain

Most of the fats you digest are made up of triglycerides. Weight gain can occur when your fat cells store excessive amounts of triglycerides. This wasnt a big deal when you were younger all your communication signals were humming along, and shutting this down, and burning those extra calories. A few decades later, you find that you actually retain more fat, even though you eat less and exercise more. Inflammation and enzymes are two of the more prominent disruptors in your bodys fat management system.

Leptin and Irvingia

Leptin is a protein hormone derived from your adipose (fat) cells. It is the most important of all the adipose-derived hormones and regulates your long-term body weight, metabolism and reproductive function. Leptin communicates with your brain for appetite and fat burning. Leptin resistance is similar to insulin resistance. Over time resistance develops from defects in the leptin receptors (and other factors) as it attempts to cross your blood-brain barrier. Irvingia has been shown to unblock leptin resistance. Irvingia is derived from African and Southeast Asian trees called African mango or wild mango. Unblock your leptin resistance and you have unlocked one of the doors to making your fat management system more efficient.

Adiponectin and Irvingia

There is a second communication signal sent out by your fat cells adiponectin, another fat-derived protein hormone. Adiponectins mission in your body is to control the amount of fat (triglycerides) in your fat cells and the number of fat cells in your body. You can maintain or lose weight when adiponectin is operating correctly. It has been noted that as you age, adiponectin diminishes due to gene transcriptional factors. Irvingia also suppresses these transcriptional factors and allows normal levels of adiponectin to be replenished. High levels of adiponectin in your blood stream indicate a low risk of coronary artery disease low levels of adiponectin are usually observed in individuals overweight and increase your risk of coronary artery disease.

GPHD and Irvingia

GPHD (Glycerol-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase) is an enzyme. As part of your fat management system, GPHD triggers the conversion of blood glucose into stored fat. If too much of this enzyme is released into your body, you will store more fat than is necessary for normal metabolism. Irvingia has been shown to inhibit the GPHD enzyme. As a result, your fat management system converts less sugar to body fat.

Your brain tells you that you are full and you should stop eating. Many of us keep on eating anyway habit primarily, dont want to leave that last little bit on the plate, the meal costs a lot and dont want to waste it lots of reasons. You ignore the signal from your brain to stop eating. Consider adding irvingia as a dietary supplement to your personal fat management system. Dont ignore your brains signal to stop eating you are full and you dont recognize it. Extra calories will be converted to fat with or without irvingia.
