Online Recruitment - Success Depends On Using The Right Mix Of Technology & Human Interaction

We live in a continually evolving world where technology is constantly being used with remarkable innovativeness to make our personal and professional lives comfortable. The recruitment process has also undergone a sea change with more and more companies preferring the online route to get the best talent available in the industry.

Online recruitment solutions are undoubtedly the best thing to happen for many companies, completely changing the manner in which the HR department functions. In the late 1990s online job boards emerged as a low cost and highly effective solution for attracting job seekers and filling the needs of the industry.

The online recruitment model has been a huge hit among employers with the job boards providing them with many options in terms of the number of candidates available for an opening. However, whether they have delivered the same results when it comes to quality is debatable. The corporate sector does feel that there is tremendous scope for improvement and a lot can be done to streamline the online recruitment process and attract better quality candidates.

The debate now is are the companies getting the best person from those who respond to their online recruitment advertisement or do they want the best talents in the industry through online advertising. While online recruitment has caught the fancy of vast majority job seekers, it is not very clear whether the cream of talent is responding to these advertisements or using other methods to get the job of their choice.

Many job boards have made dramatic changes to their recruitment methodology to make sure that they provide employers a targeted list of highly qualified candidates in a short period of time. The best talent from the available pool is short-listed through a rigorous selection process so that the employers do not have to waste their valuable time and resources in screening the list any further.

While technology is a tool that is being increasingly used by online recruitment portals to improve their processes and deliver the best results in the shortest possible time, effective human interaction cannot be really replaced by the best of technology. Online recruitment will continue to evolve at a much faster pace than ever before but human interaction at the right places will ensure greater levels of success.
