This calculator, after you input your height, weight, age, and activity level, will generate how many calories your bodies burns. After you have this number, it will be easy to decide on a caloric intake less than that. (As a general rule you should never consume less than 1200 calories per day).
One pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. This means that if you were to cut 500 calories from your consumption daily, you would lose one pound of fat per week. Best of all, five hundred calories is generally pretty easy to cut from your diet. Drinking diet soda instead of regular or using a sugar substitute in your coffee or tea are two examples of just how simple it can be.
After you decide what you'll be cutting out of your diet, take some time to consider what you'll be including. Make sure you're still eating from all the food groups. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be key. It is also a good idea to consider taking a multivitamin while dieting to ensure that your body is getting all of the essential nutrients it needs.
