subject: How About Some Easy Dieting (part 2)? [print this page] Have you been struggling with dieting/fat for a long time? If so, you have been far more anxious and tensed than at ease. To succeed in your dieting, you should be totally relaxed.
Can you force your brain to do just that ? Well, forcing by itself will not work - you should train it. The successful participants in the study (mentioned in part 1) simply learned to observe and control their thoughts peacefully.
Use the following thought-training tips consistently, I truly believe you'll find yourself struggling less and less to eat right and stay slim.
(*) Each time you're anxious, when you wish your thighs were slimmer and you've just eaten a double- dinner, and your dog is sick... And the next sure step is to swallow a cake, Pause. Take a time-out. The ONLY thing you can allow yourself is to drink a glass of water, that's it.
(*) Whenever we are anxious, everything gets stiff: Firm focus of the eyes, tightening of the muscles, short, troublesome breaths. Practice relaxation, force yourself to do the following: Broaden your visual field by softening your eyes. Stretch to release your muscles. Inhale deep breaths (minimum 5).
(*) Accept you body. Think about all the good this body of yours enabled you to do (dance, sing, laugh, read, watch tv, raise your kids and/or your pet, travel, drive, write, think..). You are, right now, joining forces with your body to get you, both, towards the goal set. You'll eventually reach a calmness that will force any stress away.
When this practice becomes a built-in on going state of mind, you may renew your devotion to any eating plan you like. A relaxed, happy, self-accepting soul & body eats healthy foods proportionally, and stays active because it's more fun. The result? Healthy and proper weight, with little effort, and a lot of calmness. It's that simple.
The best assistance one can get to control and manage weight, is at hand - your own hands.
