Whenever I am asked about the best MLM lead sources, it is usually by people whose sole focus is on how to get prospects. They think that if they get the "right" list of leads -- and if they find the "right" MLM lead source -- that they will all of a sudden explode the success of their business.
It is absolutely important to find a great MLM lead source, but there is not just one good one out there. You can get great MLM leads using free methods (like via article marketing and video marketing), and using paid methods. Whatever source(s) you decide works for you -- and is bringing you a steady flood of prospects -- you should keep using.
Where the REALLY big money is made, however, is not just in "gathering names." It is learning how to monetize your list. So how do you do this? And what exactly does this mean?
Well, the biggest mistake a network marketer can make is to lead with their opportunity (which, I know, is the exact opposite of what most people are taught by their upline to do). At the end of the day, regardless of how good your comp plan is, how great your products are, how solid your management team is, etc if you're not moving productsno one gets paid.
So you want to lead with good information coming from you as the EXPERT in whatever your business is in. So if you are marketing a health and wellness product, you don't want to lead with how great your company's compensation plan is, you want to give people good information about health and wellness.
It is one of best MLM lead sources around, i.e., giving people the answers to what they are looking for. You want to guide your prospects down a very deliberate, thought out marketing funnel that is designed to relate, identify and solve their problems. Nothing more nothing less.
You do that, and people will come to trust YOU as the expert and their "go to" person in your field. People LOVE handing their hard-earned money over to a trusted, respected expert (YOU).
You should also be creating a couple of your own products that can be sold digitally online. These products should be reasonably priced (maybe $30 or $40) but give REALLY HIGH QUALITY content. You want them to feel like they got great value -- both information and money-wise -- in buying this product from you.
This puts money in your pocket and ideally pays for your leadsand then some. There's really nothing like a lead PAYING YOU to become a prospect -- I mean, talk about the perfect MLM lead source.
This also generates what I call a "buyer file" that's exactly what it isand it's a HUGE asset. Remember, you're looking to generate a buyer file because these people are A LOT more likely to sign up into your MLM business, and continue giving you more and more money over time.
So how do you monetize your list? How does a buyer file equal big money for you?
Once you have your MLM lead source humming along bringing you names and you are building up your own buyer file, you now are in the position to monetize your list (i.e., to start making some real money!). FACT: About 75% or more of your revenues will come from people who have already given you money, i.e., the best MLM lead source are the names you already have (if you know how to handle them correctly!).
Why is this true? It is true because there is one truism in network marketing that you absolutely, must understand to be successful: The money is NOT in "getting names" -- It is in the RELATIONSHIP you have with the people on your list. The REAL MONEY is in the relationship you have with your BUYER FILE.
That means that you need to start thinking of each lead in terms of their long-term value, not as a quick sale or as someone to get to join your business. Once you get, and start to use, this concept . . . the sky is the limit in terms of what your income capability will be.
