Counter Top Drinking Water Filter and Family Safety

Our daughter was born two weeks premature and that scary event prompted me to go to the library and read everything that I could about baby health and nutrition. The only thing that I came across that I could really say surprised me was the info I found about tap water and tap water safety. I could not believe how many pathogens and harmful things were in tap water, especially for infants. I think we would have made baby formula out of tap water had we not read the statistics regarding tap water making babies sick. At first, these stories made me angry but then I realized that our water treatment plants were doing everything they could. There are just too many chemicals in modern life for one plant to be able to get rid of them all. So, I decided to take action as a responsible new father and install a counter top drinking water filter. Our new house was very small and I figured it was all we would have room for. It cost a few hundred dollars and at least another hundred dollars to take care of each year--mainly to replace the cartridges--but I firmly believe it is worth every cent. I have even been drinking a lot more tap water now than ever before. And I feel good whenever my baby takes a sip. I know she will appreciate it, too, when she realizes how the thing on our counter helps give us safe and clean water to drink each day.
