Comparing Health Insurance Plans

Comparing the new health insurance system in relation to probability with other countries is an undertaking that has rarely been done before. The country does dabble from time to time and cover the statistics in certain areas, but an in depth comparison was never needed.

In today's world, we are being forced to reconsider how we perceive our new health insurance coverage in comparison to other countries. We begin to think whether the coverage we have is as good or bad as others we know. Do we have health care that is as good or even better than what Canadians have?

One of the main issues that the United States has maintained in regards to the health care was the delivery system, which is now being scraped for a more unified low cost health insurance system. The results of how we will do under this new health care system is yet to unfold, but the prospects of a good outcome remain skeptical.

One of the biggest differences we have with Canada is the technology that's involved. CAT scanners here are available in almost all our private and public hospitals across the country. In Canada however there is only one CAT scanner for every Province which is inconvenient for their citizens.

When they reach the age of seventy, it's up to them to get the medical care that they need. Unless you are someone special in that country, the country only sometimes gives you medical attention.

How is major illness defined? The health care community of Canada defines Kidney disease, heart disease, and other major chronic illness as a major illness that will cost the country unnecessary money. But here in America, medical assistance is given to individuals regardless of age or health condition.

Medical providers will give everyone the same treatment or service needed regardless if you have a health insurance or not. Maybe this is why the mortality rate for major illnesses is lower in the United States than it is in Canada. This is how the World Health Organization judges the performance of health care services.

1. The level of health and the distribution of health

2. The level of responsiveness and the fairness of financial contribution
