The Work Of The Incentive Packages For Locum Doctors

To the doctors from New Zealand and Australia the offer from Southland is too good to be true. It is said that there was an email that mentioned that applications would only be accepted from March through August for the pay that was mentioned. This email for sure is only an instance to the rollercoaster demands for doctor.

Not only do the doctors get amazing benefits but they also get return airfares from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. There's a lot on offer for those who have no preference for skiing. You are allowed the option of going Surfing, mountain biking, tramping, mountain climbing and kayaking from the hospital.

It is easy to even negotiate the rate per hour. The Southland District Health Board chief operating officer disclosed that bout four junior doctors were required but for now they had found substitutes. The doctors who would join here would be offered a minimum of $110 per hour.

Though it was being offered earlier she was not really aware of the free ski passes deals she says. It indeed took everyone by surprise when they learnt the fact that the permanent doctors don't get paid nearly as much as the locum doctors. For the 60 hours that a doctor works in the hospital he gets $25 and if he is experienced he gets $30 an hour.

Each permanent doctor is said to be given about $45 an hour for over time. Permanent staff also lost out on the perks being offered to locums. Locums? are an excessive expense for Southland. Instead of asking them to work as locums, the permanent staffs were rewarded.

The union had offered help but the district health board was too busy dealing with things on its own. If this former Southland Hospital junior doctor delegate member is to be believed, the Resident Doctors Association and district health boards are said to have payment issues. This was the exact time when lot of money was being spent on employing doctors but nothing was being done to make them stay. The managing director of the company says that had he not been bound by confidentiality rules he would have talked about this more.
