Each State in US has fixed its minimum auto insurance requirement that drivers of that particular state are required to comply. The vehicle-owners need to conform to the state auto insurance as fixed by the state transport commissioner in order to legally drive the vehicle in that state. Some states place higher financial demands on its motorist then others. However, no matter which state you are residing in, you must meet the state auto insurance requirement to protect your vehicle and the passengers from the future emergencies.

The following is a list of a few states with their minimum auto insurance obligations for the drivers:

Alabama - Bodily Injury, Property Damage Liability

Alaska - Bodily injury, property damage liability.

Arizona - Bodily injury, property damage liability.

Arkansas - Bodily injury, property damage liability.California - Bodily injury, property damage liability.

Colorado - Bodily injury, property damage liability, personal injury protection.

Connecticut - Bodily injury, property damage liability, uninsured, underinsured motorist.

Delaware - Bodily injury, property damage liability, personal injury protection motorist.

District of Columbia - Bodily injury, property damage liability, uninsured, underinsured motorist.

Florida - property damage liability, personal injury protection motorist

In the states that do not have financially responsibility law, it requires the drivers to show an income proof to verify that the person will be able to pay for both bodily and property damage resulting from an auto accident.
