Will 2011 Be YOUR Year?
Have you been at this weight-loss yo-yo life for some time? Or is this the first time that you make a New Year's resolution to lose a few pounds?
Whether losing some weight is something new on your wish list, or whether it has been there for ages . . . it doesn't really matter.
What?
Yes, you heard right. It doesn't matter . . . not at all!! You could have failed at this weight-loss game many, many times in the past. But that does NOT mean you will fail again . . . not necessarily.
So What Matters, Then?
What matters, my friend, is whether you know that you are worth the effort. And whether you believe that you can actually achieve it.
Nothing else matters.
"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and BELIEVE, it can ACHIEVE" is what Napoleon Hill said. And this has been proven over and over again by both men and women of all ages, and from all walks of life.
If you WANT to lose the weight, you CAN do it. But you first have to believe that you yes, YOU can do it. If you doubt that you can do it, you might as well not even start because failure is guaranteed.
But if you believe, deep down in your gut, that you can (and WILL) reach that goal, nothing in the world will be strong enough to stop you.
Plan, Attack, Evaluate. Repeat
You should approach this like a general taking his troops out to war. Plan your attack. Then follow that plan. Then continually evaluate the results. And re-plan, if necessary.
Jim Edwards said it nicely, "Your level of success and achievement in any area of life is in direct proportion to your ability and willingness to direct your thoughts into effective planning and organized action towards a specific goal combined with a strong reason WHY you're doing it in the first place!"
Now think of that for a moment. Notice that you have to have a "strong reason WHY."
So start by creating the STRONGEST "reason WHY" that you can come up with. It should be so strong that it must propel you right through the year, until you reach your target weight.
What Value A Thinner Body?
Do not think of what you have to do in order to attain your ideal weight. Rather think of what the VALUE will be for you.
So what would the Value be for YOU? Some of the following might apply to you, as they are fairly generally accepted values to be obtained by many people across the globe who want to lose weight:
Improved Health
More Satisfied with Yourself
More Attractive to the opposite sex
The Satisfaction of having Triumphed over the weight obstacle
Improved Energy Levels
A better Sex Life.
Develop your own list. Make it personal . . . and make it POWERFUL!
Then develop a BURNING PASSION for achieving them, because "Your ability to achieve your goal is directly proportional to the level of passion you have inside yourself about it" (Matt Furey).
Will 2011 Be YOUR Year?
Only YOU can decide that.
And only YOU can achieve the weight loss you desire. Nobody can do it FOR you. And nobody can force you to achieve that goal.
Now ask yourself this question: AM I WORTH IT? Am I worth investing the time into my own health? What will that do to my self-esteem? Once I reach my ideal weight, how will I feel about myself? Is it worth it?
Go for it . . . because You ARE Worth It!!
