subject: Mud Pack For Skin Care [print this page]

The nature cure practitioners at present are making increasing use of moistened earth in the treatment of diseases. The use of mud packs has been found highly beneficial and effective in the treatment of chronic inflammation caused by internal diseases, bruises, sprains, boils, and wounds. This mode of treatment is normally adopted in conjunction with a proper scheme of dietary and other natural therapies.

When clay has been used for its cooling effect, the part to which it has been applied should first be wiped clean with a piece of cloth, and then brought to normal temperature by a dry rubbing with the palms. If it has been used for warming the part, the part should be wiped clean with cloth wrung in cold water.

Clay pack or mud pack is highly beneficial treatment in nervous diseases, weakness, fever, scarlet fever, influenza, measles, swellings, ear and eye troubles, rheumatism, gout, liver and kidney troubles, tooth ache, head ache, and general body aches. It is also useful in abdominal diseases as indigestion and bowel diseases. It promotes labor pains. It is also applied after fomentation to the body for about 15 minutes.

The importance of clay or mud as an external therapeutic or a healing agent challenges that of water itself. Clay has been found effective in constipation, diarrhea, fever, stomachache, duodenal and intestinal ulcers, bleeding of the uterus, piles, fissures, appendicitis, irregularity in menstruation, gastritis and such other disorders. The beneficial effects of the use of clay on boils, wounds, pain or swellings have been found to exceed all expectations.

Mud of any color can be used provided it does not contain harmful material or chemicals. The mud is obtained and purified. It is applied all over the body. The patient is kept in the mud up to his neck. The paste thus obtained as a smooth paste mixed with hot water and spread on a sheet which is wrapped around the body. And one or two blankets are then wrapped around the body. Then it is cleaned with warm bath, later cold shower bath. But if the cooling effect is desired, the clay should be left uncovered.

Mud Pie piggy banks are offered in either ceramic or pewter color and come in a variety of exciting themes that are packed in hat boxes that match the theme of the bank (except the giant piggy banks, which come in a secure gift box). The hat boxes are very unique and come well padded to protect the bank. They are lined with satin and come with ribbon ties. Many of these mud pie piggy banks play music when you insert a coin and all have rubber stoppers for removing the coins.

Therefore, all these marine ingredients are used in natural beauty products as nutrient enhancers, for skin repair, and to promote circulation. Sea-derived mud is often mixed with other natural ingredients and painted on the body providing a relaxing way to detox. The mud from the Dead Sea is also used in products that purify clogged pores and regulate the texture of the complexion.

Mud or clay bath is another mode of treatment. It is applied in the same way as packs, but only on a larger scale on the entire body. In this, mud or clay is first ground and sifted to remove all impurities, and then made into a smooth paste mixed with hot water. The paste is then spread on a sheet which in turn is wrapped round the body.

Whether you spend your weekends churning through the deepest muck, or shuttling the kids to and from soccer with a side trip to the mini golf place, a nice set of mud guards or mud flaps can give your vehicle the look of an off-road commander. Or, a super long and flexible set of mud flaps helps you blend in with any convoy of 18-wheelers, which use these flaps to deflect costly windshield-wrecking rocks tossed at top speed.
