subject: Learn Why Diets For Quick Weight Loss Can Be Completely Useless Without This One Secret Ingredient [print this page]

Many diets for quick weight loss are being marketed to suspecting and unsuspecting consumers. People that take the time to understand what works and why are generally not buying diet after diet after diet, never to see consistent or long term results. Assembling the right exercise regimen and diet consisting the right foods is the real diet that works every time.

Like anything in life that's positive or good, if you do it consistently over and over, it's going to be better for you and you'll see better results than if you only did it sporadically or on occasion. This is also the case with being healthy and/or losing weight.

1. Upon awakening every day, get your blood flowing. Not with coffee, but with some kind of exercise, even if just a little. A few push ups and stomach crunches and/or maybe a walk or short jog. As long as you get movement in and maybe even break a little sweat, studies have proven that this commitment will help keep you consistent with a routine.

2. Write it down - Like any other appointment in your life you deem important, your fitness time should be written down as an appointment and you're more likely to do it. Put it on your calendar alongside everything else.

3. Vary your routine - Not the time (we covered that in number 1), but what you do for exercise. Don't get in a rut. Varying your routine can do much more than just keep you interested, it will help you physically as well. Try to keep a balance between cardio activities and strength training activities.

4. Set reasonable, measurable goals - Keep your goals small. Don't say, "I'm going to run a marathon in 6 months." Instead, try to add small increments to your running schedule. It's also VERY important that your goals are measurable. That lets you know you're successful.

5. Create a top 10 workout playlist - It's a proven fact that music helps you stay motivated when you're working out. Each of us is inspired by different music, so create a top 10 on your mp3 player to inspire yourself.

6. A workout buddy - this is really all about accountability first. Having someone else to workout with not only keeps you accountable to yourself, but accountable to each other. Neither person will want to let the other person down, even if they themselves don't want to workout. Plus, it's more fun.

7. Record your progress - Remember those measurable goals? Well, now it's time to write them down. Start a fitness journal. Nobody has to see it but you. It will give you a place to record your goals and measure your success.

Healthy eating is the real key with losing weight. When purchased as a package, diets for quick weight loss, will often let you down. Combine a good exercise routine with a good diet, and you'll be well on your way to reaching your weight loss goals.
