subject: How To Treat Infertility Using Fertility Massage [print this page]

There have been recent scientific studies suggesting that up to 30% of all cases of infertility are the result of stress levels. Living in today's society, stress is caused by many factors which may or may not be under your control, such as money issues, family problems, and infertility itself. Although it may not be possible to eliminate many of the factors causing stress in your life, you can reduce stress significantly through several different natural fertility treatment methods.

Fertility massage is one of these techniques. Many types of massage can help reduce stress levels, but fertility massage has the added benefit of working to promote blood flow and organ function for the reproductive system. The way in which stress interferes with pregnancy is not fully known by scientists, but some of the leading theories suggest that stress increases the amount of hormones such as epinephrine and cortisol which are believed to interfere with pregnancy. Reducing stress can also have a beneficial effect in terms of uterine function, allowing the uterus to produce more of the proteins necessary for egg implantation.

If you are interested in undergoing fertility massage therapy, you can likely find it offered at a fertility or massage center in your area. If it is not available, you can also learn self fertility massage techniques, or have your partner learn fertility massage techniques. Fertility massage treatments often last between 15 minutes and half an hour. Experiencing some soreness and heavy periods after starting the therapy is normal. However, you should stop the therapy immediately after becoming pregnant, as it can pose a hazard to the developing fetus.

There is evidence to suggest that fertility massage may be the most effective, however, when combined with other natural fertility treatments.
