subject: Your Wedding, The Traditional Way [print this page] It seems like every other month now that you hear about one of your friends who is about to get married on a beach in Hawaii. It seems like it would be a romantic stop where the ceremony is held just as the sun sets, but do you know how many things could go wrong at something like that? First of all, the beach wedding dress would look beautiful for a little while until the sand blew up into it. You couldnt wear the designer heels you bought because you would most definitely trip so perhaps your wedding should be a little more traditional and a little more formal.
There is a reason weddings are done the way they are done, and thats because they work well when it is held under a roof without weather to worry about and without strangers wandering up to you asking directions. And that bridal dress would simply glisten when you walk down that aisle with the lighting focused on you. But now weddings are mostly about the reception. The ceremony could go off without a hitch during a beach wedding, and that vintage wedding dress that your mother passed down to you might still be intact, but the reception outside might cause a lot of things to go wrong.
But a beautiful hotel or restaurant wouldnt have any of those problems. Being able to serve that rustic Italian meal under chandeliers and hanging flowers does have its advantages. But the disadvantage of having all this for your reception is that it might cost a little more than a wedding outside in the middle of nature. For one thing, the flowers would be free since they would be growing naturally. But it is worth it. While many people are getting divorced, you want your first wedding to be your last. So if its only going to be one time, you might as well dig into your savings before you regret it. Some might even say that a ruined wedding is the reason some women want a divorce so they can plan a better one.
Now that last part might be a bit of a stretch, but as the groom, its also your responsibility to make that wedding the best night of both your lives. So remember to be original, but try not to reinvent the wheel since it might just fall apart at the last minute.
