3 Pressing Questions About Metatrader To Help All Beginner Forex Traders

One of the most important aspects of trading Forex for a beginner is having a broker and platform that you feel comfortable working with. As you may not actually come into contact with anyone directly from the broker, this on a general term is not a major problem. However, the platform that they offer should be noted, as using a platform that is not suitable for beginners can be the difference between succeeding and failing.

MetaTrader is seen by many as the perfect trading program for many novice traders and these 3 questions are some of those that are most often asked regarding this piece of Forex software.

1. Why should I go with a broker that uses MetaTrader?

Used by a substantial majority of all Forex brokers, MetaTrader is widely regarded as the industry standard platform for trading on the foreign exchange. Whilst it's general popularity alone may be enough to convince some that a broker that uses MetaTrader is the one to go with, it is actually something a little more in-depth that shows the true reason why.

Take something a little more mainstream as an example, such as the iPhone. Before the launch of the iPhone in 2007, Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, explained at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2007 that the code used to develop applications would be open source, allowing for people to create their own applications.

Whilst this may seem a small piece of news to some, it actually turned out to be absolutely massive as by doing this, iPhone users had instant technical support. If an owner had, or has, a problem, they can go online and within minutes find a resolution from thousands of people who have no particular affiliation with Apple.

The same applies to the MetaTrader platform. As it is massively popular and can be amended to suit the needs of individual traders, it is so widely supported that it is difficult to understand why anyone would choose not to use the platform. Free support 24/7 from forums, blogs and websites? Yes please.

2. How easy is MetaTrader to use?

This is by far one of the most asked questions relating to the platform, as all novice traders, understandably, want to ensure that their time trading is as hassle free as it can possibly be. Whilst it is expected by all that some time will need to be spent adjusting to the software, the less time it takes, the better.

Fortunately, MetaTrader is considered to be particularly user friendly. A clean and simple layout, it is helped immensely by the support that was discussed in the first question. As with anything in life, the more support that is available, the easier the task is and therefore as there are copious amounts of online resources available to utilize for MetaTrader, it is extremely easy for new traders to begin using.

2. What does the future hold for the platform?

According to the MetaQuotes website (the developers of the MetaTrader platform), the 2 November 2009 saw the official MetaTrader 5 download open, albeit in Beta form. An obvious development and progression on the current MetaTrader 4, by utilizing the Beta MetaTrader 5 download, all traders can help with the improvements of this latest software before it is due to be officially released in 2010.
