Instead of plotting how to get your ex back, one should strive to possess their life as a normal, single person.
This concept after having a broken heart is almost sometimes too hard to bear, but dwelling on the past only makes the vicious cycle continue on. You should preoccupy your time with picking up the pieces instead of being infatuated with getting your ex back. In some situations, getting back together just is not an option. In this case you need to realize that moving on is the one and only option, keep the fond memories you had, but dispose of the hatred and resentment that you have acquired.
Waking up at 3 a.m. to realize you are alone is paralyzing. Feelings of abandonment and grief will hit you like a rock, but in the morning, when you awake, you will still be breathing. Look at your experience as a positive one instead of a negative one, and use it as a learning experience. Stalking your ex via Myspace in the wee hours of the morning is no way for someone to live, and no way to get your ex back anyways. Go to the gym, go shopping, and start dating. Just because this love broke your heart does not mean that another love like that will not come around again.
Time makes the heart grow fonder, and if you are meant to get your ex back, you will reunite with each other in the future, but in most circumstances this will not happen. Sometimes this is a blessing in disguise, and it just was not meant to be which can be a difficult pill to swallow. Fortunately, the gaping black hole in your heart will begin to heal, and scar over. No one can ever replace the feeling you had for your lover, but keep the fond memories, and try to love again.
