Hair Care started with skin care

Good hair care starts at home in the way you treat your hair. Always brush the hair before washing to remove tangles and any surface dirt.

To avoid splitting hair, start combing the ends first and work your way upwards. Do not start at the roots. Use bristle brushes in preferences to nylon as they reduce static and distribute the oils more evenly. Avoid brushing or combing your hair too often as this can cause the hair split.

Choose the proper shampoo. Frequent wash brands can be used daily on oily or normal hair. A rich, creamy shampoo is best for hair that has been chemically treated with perm or color. If you suffer from dandruff then use special treatment shampoos but only while the problem persists, as they dry out the hair.

There are many home made shampoos for every hair type.

To wash hair, use warm water to wet the hair, put a small blob of shampoo on the palms of the hands and smooth it gently over the hair. Lather the shampoo with the pads of your fingers. Use this massaging action on the scalp for about a minute; if your hair is long, only lather the scalp, the rest will be washed as you rinse. Unless the hair is very dirty, one shampoo wash is sufficient.

A lot of lather means the product is high in detergent it doesn't reflect the quality. Avoid tangles by letting the hair fall naturally. Wet hair is weaker and more easily damaged than dry, so treat gently. Always rinse thoroughly the water should run clear and the hair feel Squeaky.

All hair type appreciate a conditioning rinse. Normal and fine hair will benefit from a weekly treatment, while dry and chemically treated or dyed hair will need an application after every shampoo. After washing hair, towel dry and then gently comb your hair conditioner through the hair. Leave for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

As with a shampoo choose a conditioner to suit your type of hair. Intensive conditioning treatments should be given at least once a month. These are richer than ordinary conditioners, and are left on the hair instead of being rinsed out.
