subject: Winning Your Family Back After Cheating [print this page]

Life is so unpredictable; you'll never know what will happen next although you've already planned out your next move. Like cheating, although you did not plan to do it, it does happen. And before you realize it, it has already taken its toll on destroying your family.

Having an affair is also putting your family in danger? Why? Because you are destroying the marriage gradually until the whole family is affected. The result? A broken family, a broken home; kids that don't have direction because both parents can no longer be with them anymore.

Regret always comes after realizing how serious the damage of your cheating was. You were thinking of a better life ahead of you with the other woman, but that didn't happen at all. You must now not only to seek forgiveness from your wife but also anyone else in the family, who was hurt as a result of your actions.

We all know that it's not easy to forget and forgive a father who risked his family just to be with another woman. The pain it gave your family is so intense that every hope and dream of your children has flown out of the window.

So where should you begin? How should you begin getting your family back after putting them on that dreadful situation?

First things first; apologize sincerely to your wife. Show her how much you regret the mistake you've committed and be honest in answering her questions. Tell her how sorry you are and how miserable life was without her and the kids.

Prepare for a long journey. Meaning, wait for your wife to forgive before you gain your children's love again. Unless your wife gives you another chance, you will never get your children back, too. Accept whatever test or punishment your wife will give you.

In other words, accentuate the positives about your relationship. Build your new marriage on the love rather than the things that ripped your relationship to shreds. You'll have your family back in no time.
