Great Ideas For Kids Travel Toys

If you have ever taken a trip with young children, you know that the number of kids travel toys that is required to keep them entertained can be staggering and yet, it still never seems like enough! The trick is not so much how many you bring, but what kinds you bring. There are so many different products that stimulate all kinds of different senses, you want to make sure that you bring enough of a variety to keep them entertained to make the trip easier for everyone. For example, if your child has a Nintendo DS, do not ring along 10 games for it thinking that it will suffice for six hours. Even though you might be able to sit doing the same thing for long periods of time, your child can not, so you have to bring something else besides the gaming system.

If your child enjoys coloring but you are dreading having to reach behind you to constantly pick up his crayons, there are some kids travel toys that can take care of this. Grab one or two of the magic coloring pads or books that are found in stores near the coloring books that use a Magic Pen instead of crayons. When the child draws on the special paper, an array of colors show up. There is only one fat marker to use too, instead of crayons. Keeping a handle on one fat marker is so much easier than 10 colored crayons. An added bonus to using one of these is that unlike crayons, the marker will only draw on the paper, and not on your car!

If you have really young children, remember that infants and young toddlers love mirrors, lights and music. Do not pack a bunch of rattles and teething rings and think that holding those will be great for kids travel toys. Instead, get those small toys that light up, play songs and have little moving parts and mirrors. These will go a long way as opposed to teething rings that they hold and bite.

Do not underestimate the power of a song, even for very small children! CDs make great kids travel toys, and the kids think it is so cool when they have their own set of headphones and a CD player or even an mp3 player that is just for them to use! Remember that what we think of as commonplace and mundane young children are often enthralled with. Be sure that you burn a few CDs for them or add mp3 songs that they enjoy, not necessarily what you enjoy. Remember, when trying to pack kids travel toys, the key is to pack things that they like, not what you like.
