A Traditional Japanese Wedding Dress would be Perfect for a Cosplay Wedding

There tend to be more and more people getting focused on traditional and popular Japanese culture, with a product being that more brides are opting to wear a traditional Japanese wedding dress. It's a wedding theme that would be a lttle bit around the unusual side but the wedding dress definitely isn't . You won't find any similarities between the Japanese and Western dresses, though, apart from the fact that they're both white . And if the bride desires to stick with tradition, she'll want to have at least two dresses for the wedding and also the reception.

The first wedding dress will be for the ceremony only and is called a shiro-maku. Since the name literally means white and pure, or shiro and maku respectively, the dress would be all white with no decorations at all . One unusual thing about this kimono would be that the dress itself is extremely long that attendants should help the bride hold it up. The bride will be all in white, including her wooden clogs, socks as well as her face, so as to advertise her maiden's status to the gods. Another type of kimono will be used during the wedding reception. This kimono is called the uchikake and is an elaborately decorated, brightly colored silk kimono. This would be a quick change since it just goes covers the shiro-maku before the reception starts. There are many happy colors to choose from although most brides pick red as it symbolizes happiness and good luck.

The bride's hair is arranged in an elaborate hairstyle called the bunkin-takashimada which will be, more often than not, a wig. It's decorated with gold combs and hair accessories to bring good luck to the couple. During the ceremony, a white hood called the tsuno kakushi covers the bride's hair. Actually, the name means "hide the horns of jealousy" and signifies the bride would be being married willingly and vows to be a pleasing and serene wife, despite her mother-in-law! At the reception, the hood will be removed to showcase her hairstyle and pretty dress. In many cases, the bride changes yet again sometime into the reception - this time right into a Western-style gown.
