subject: 3 Things You Need To Make Sure Every Wedding Photography Contract Has [print this page]

If you want to hire someone then you should have a contract. Also if you want photos done at the wedding then you should have a wedding photography contract. This is going to protect you and the photographer from misleading each other. When you get done reading this article, then you will know three things that should be in the contract in order for it to be fair to both.

Time spent:

This has more than one meaning and it means, first off, that its a certain amount of time the photographer is going to spend in taking photos.

It can also mean that the photographer will go to just more than one location. So you have a photographer booked in for about four hours and he spends one hour before the ceremony, an hour during it, and an hour after it when everyone leaves and this comes to a total of three hours.

But you should know that there is nothing in the contract that says a photographer will go to more than one location. So in doing so he might pack up and go back to the studio.

So while you assume that he has an hour left and he will take photos at your reception, but the contract only said four hours, not mentioning a second location and so then you are left with no pictures of the reception.

Photo Type:

There are a lot of types of pictures. Some are candid, story, and group. You should tell the photographer what kind you want. That and there are double exposures and fancy types as well. The do drive the price up some but if you really want them you should tell the photographer.

Cost:

When you get all the stuff that you ask for in the photo package it will come up to some price. You and the photographer should agree on one in the contract before you sign it. If you don't then you will have a jacked up price because of all the add ins that the photographer put in.

After having read this article then you should understand three things that should be in a wedding photography contract. If they aren't then you could be in trouble. You should remember to have the amount of locations, the time spent, and the types of photos that will be taken. That and the total cost of the package. Leaving any of these out and this could be disastrous.
