subject: A Dwarf Girl 2 [print this page] A Dwarf Girl 2 A Dwarf Girl 2
Mama burst into a cry in the front of the doctor. She was so sad not because of the fact that I was a dwarf child but because that my birth was a failure to her. As proud as she was, she couldn't accept the fact. When we left the hospital, she didn't talk to me. She sank into deep thinking. Arrving home, she threw all my things out of her bedroom and told the nanny to look after me. I was confused by her. At midnight, I wet the bed and cried to find mama. But I was stopped by her in the entrance of her bedroom. She stared at me and said coldly, "never get into my bedroom!" I was astounded by her words and cruel facial expressions. What happened to mama? She was not my mama any more. After that, each time I tried to come near her, she would asked nanny to take me away as if I was something horrible. One year later, a new child came to my family. Mama gave birth to a child who was a baby girl. I heard from nanny that my sister had all the medical tests on the third day of her birth and the doctor told mama that this girl was normal. She was not a dwarf any more. Mama was intoxicated by the news. She treated the little girl dearly. And I was forgotten by her the moment that my sister was born. I had to escape from the life that I had. For twenty five years, I was nobody. No one in my family saw me and no one cared about me. Mama was shameful of me and she regarded me as a curse of the family. She devoted all her love and energy to my little sister. I had to admit that my sister was a beauty. She looked like mama very much. She had the same charater with mama, too. She was the apple of all people around her. Like them, she was ashamed of her elder sister who was dwarf. In school, she wouldn't talk a word to me. On parties, she had her beautiful party dress and danced with boys she liked. And when people asked that who the girl was in a corner, she looked me like a stranger and said that she didn't know me. "Poor girl, she can't have a party dress. Look how short she is." My sister laughed at me before her friends. Back home, she talked to mama that how luxurious the party was and how many people she had met. They laughed and talked and had no intention to ask about how I felt about the party. I was like the air and no one would notice my existence. That night, I slipped into my sister's room and sheared her favorite party dress. Then I left the house and went to the train station. I wanted to leave.
