Day 6 on Losing Weight
Day 6 on Losing Weight

But if you find that your weight is the same or if you find yourself with an extra pound or two, then re-evaluate your past recent activities. Have you been just sitting around in your free time without exercising at all? Or maybe you ate something which you though won't affect your weight at all (like that slice of chocolate cake that your friend offered you at work)? It might even be an old habit that you went back to after five days of avoiding it.

But that's fine, really. You're barely on your first week, so you need to experience these things so that you will always remember what will happen if you stray for your diet. Look on the bright side, at least you didn't let yourself go and gain more pounds than you did. Sometimes being able to see that you're losing or gaining pounds each morning is all the motivation you need to be religious to your diet.

At day six, you can probably already list down some useful health tips for the past few days. Here's a list of them, in case you forgot:

Diet moderately

Drink lots of water, around 9-13 a day (and drink more when you're sick)

Get enough rest (8-9 consecutive hours per night)

Bring food with you to avoid fast food

Brush your teeth after your last meal to avoid additional munchies.

Take these tips to heart - you should practice them all throughout your diet.

Now add this health tip to the list: chew your food. People actually take this thing for granted. There's a good reason why our teeth is designed to grind food thoroughly before we consume them - it's the only way to ensure that your food is properly digested when it reaches the digestive system.

It may sound funny, but you need to chew your food 35 times before you swallow. Some people just chomp on the food they eat and then swallow their food outright. That's not good for the stomach, and can even cause indigestion.

But more than that, eating fast means that you'll only eat more. Chewing your food helps you feel full even if you don't consume that much.

Besides, chewing food can be very relaxing. Not to mention the fact that you get to enjoy your food more.

Have a cantaloupe smoothie for breakfast, raw tomato soup with wheat crackers for lunch, and Swiss chard with raisings and marinated veggies for dinner. For your snacks, have some almonds and apple slices.

Try biking! If you have a bike, then it's about time you pick it off the garage and take it out for a spin. It's a fun variation to your regular brisk walks, and it makes you feel younger.
