subject: How To Make Extra Money On The Side For Newbies - The $2 Plan [print this page] You've been flooded with email offers, seen all the hype and now somebody is telling you how to make extra money on the side on the internet for $2. Just another scam right? Not really. If you are absolutely new to internet marketing but are unsure how to start then you need to learn this two buck program.
Do any of these sound familiar?
You feel overwhelmed by all the information about starting an internet business.
- You're not sure what to learn first.
- You visit an internet marketing forum and you don't understand half of what is said.
- You wonder if it's all hype and if anyone actually is making money.
- You don't have, or you don't want to spend a lot of money on training and products.
- You want to do something you just don't know where to start.
If you answered yes to even one of these you have to check this system out.
Now this next part is going to sound like the typical scam pitch but please trust me, it isn't.
Did you know you could start an internet business without a website? Did you know you don't have to have your own product to sell? Did you know you don't have to sell anything to make money? Did you know the work you do today could continue to pay you for years? Whew! That even sounds scammy to me. But guess what, it's all true.
The big picture is called affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is simply you sending visitors to a company's website and getting paid a commission if they purchase something on that website. Pretty simple concept right? But it begs a couple of questions. Where can you find a company to work with and how do you send them traffic.
Finding a product is simple. Almost every online retailer has an affiliate program including big names like Amazon.com, Wal-Mart.com and Macys.com. The most common place for a beginner to look is at an affiliate network like Clickbank.com or CommissionJunction.com. These networks have literally thousands of affiliate products in almost any category you can think of.
When you first start, pick a product or category that you know something about or that interests you. This is not always the best product to make money, but in this early stage you want to be working on something you enjoy while you are developing your skills. If you're a big golfer maybe you promote a golf training product. If you're into scrapbooks, find a product that covers that. Just find something that you enjoy.
When you sign up as an affiliate for a product you'll be given a unique link to identify the visitors that you send. If they buy, this link tells the company who to pay.
Ok how do you send traffic? The answer is article marketing. Article marketing is simply writing about a subject and providing useful valuable information about that subject. For example, if you are a golfer maybe you do an article on five tips to improve putting. You are not pitching your product, you are providing valuable content for a reader.
When you have this article written, you want to post it on one or more article directories. Signing up is a snap and usually instantaneous. These directories provide free content to other websites and have literally millions of articles. All of these articles are indexed by the search engines, including the one yours is on.
At he bottom of the article is a resource box. This is a small area where you can pitch your product and include a link to it. Now the link that you got from the affiliate network probably won't be allowed by the better article directories. To get around that, you can do a redirect of a top level domain and have that domain URL pointed at your affiliate link.
Huh?
It's easier than it sounds. Go to GoDaddy.com or anybody else who registers domains and buy a .info domain. Try to get one that has a name close to your subject material. Then follow the simple instructions to tell GoDaddy to redirect, or call forward if you will, any visitor who arrives to the affiliate URL. Presto you're done. No need to build a site, you are just sending traffic directly to the company's sales page. Oh, and a .info domain costs about $2.00.
So you have a basic education, you have identified your market, you have a vehicle to convey your offer and you have a way to drive traffic. This is all a part of strategic internet marketing. Now look beyond today. Look six months and a year downstream. Plan for the growth and your ride in the world of internet marketing will go much smoother.
