subject: What Movie Reviews Should You Trust? How About The Ones That Really Make You Laugh? [print this page] Why doesn't anyone write movie reviews that are entertaining in and of themselves? It occurred to me that a movie reviewer's goal should be to get people to always want to come back and read their next review, no matter what movie they are writing about. As a movie fan, I would see an advertisement for a movie that I might like to see. Then I would read the various reviews of that movie to determine if it would really be worth my time. However, I realized this didn't accomplish much. I had already made up my mind that I wanted to see a certain movie and the reviews never really swayed me either way. What I should have been doing was reading the reviews of the movies I DIDN'T necessarily want to see. This sounds like an arduous process, but not if you found a source of reviews that made you laugh every time!
Movie reviews should be more than just informative. They are an important part of the moviegoing experience and the industry as a whole. So why shouldn't they entertain you just as much as the movies themselves? Therefore, I started a blog that does just that at moviecapper.blogspot.com. This blog contains what I like to call movie reviews with a twist! Most every wide release movie that hits theaters gets PRE-VIEWED as well as RE-VIEWED by me in this blog. What's the difference between a PRE-VIEW and a RE-VIEW, you ask? A PRE-VIEW is my review of a movie written BEFORE I've even seen it! Each movie is then RE-VIEWED after I have seen it. Each PRE-VIEW nad RE-VIEW is written in a very edgy and comical style that most reviewers would be afraid to use.
Both the PRE-VIEWS and RE-VIEWS are written passionately with two goals in mind. First and foremost, to make the reader laugh, and secondly to give an honest opinion about the movies in question. I could never find a "go to" reviewer who I always agreed with. Chances are you will not always agree with my opinions either. However, I can guarantee you will have a good time reading each PRE-VIEW and RE-VIEW in this blog. You will want to come back for more just to read what I have to say about the next movie whether you're interested in seeing it or not. And that's what you should be doing...becoming more informed about ALL the movies that are showing so you can make better decisions concerning which ones you will spend your money on.
