Let me say with all confidence that if they weren't worth a great deal of money, no person would want them. Nobody would care how spectacular or strong they are. It's all regarding the amount of money. For me, the diamond is not the prettiest gemstone by far.

My advice to all you men around is; if you possess a great deal of money to shell out on pricey engagement rings, then so be it; however, if you only have so much, and you'd want to put the bulk of it on a house, then that's a more prudent investment.

Just keep in mind, if you can't manage to pay for it, then don't buy it. Expensive engagement rings is not equivalent to your love for the lady in any way. Sticking with her through the years is the true test.
