subject: Wood Shed Building Kits - Save Your Money By Building Your Own [print this page]

We replaced my vintage lawn mower this summerWe replaced my vintage lawn mower this summer. The thing is i don't have a shed to stow it in, so believe it or not, i just push it under the tree at the end of the lawn with a bucket covering the engine during the winter. Possibly not a good idea, however the wife will not allow me to put it in the dining room, so what on earth was I to do?

Someone i know recommended I make a wooden storage shed to keep my tools in, and i informed him I could never afford to shop for one and i couldn't even try and construct one myself.

My friend then explained,, that there are in fact wood shed building kits which often include all the things you really need to do the job yourself. The customer could even get hold of a package that has had all the timber precut for you! All you literally have to do is simply put the thing together.

My personal theory with regards to self assembly projects is, even though they may say easy, they are frequently anything but.

A friend explained if I ordered one he would certainly help me put it together. He even said how thrilled my wife would be that my spade might no longer find its home leaning against the toilet window, or the mower beneath the tree might one day be stashed away from the neighbor's site.

Anyway, I made a decision to give it a shot and started looking around for wood shed building kits. There had been a few at the nearby home and garden store, however I in the end purchased one I found on the internet, and had it shipped to my home.

These types of wood shed building kits have everything you could possibly need, so me and my friend built it in a couple of weekends. Interesting how i could not convince him to help me paint it though, so if you do a project on your own you need to recognize that all the kits come unfinished, which means that you must paint it.

I should be honest, i personally hate painting so i paid for some man to do it for me. As it turned out, I had saved hundreds of dollars over a pre-built storage shed and in truth loved putting the thing together. The storage shed all round gave me a fantastic sense of achievement and is also a beautiful addition to our back garden.
