Menopause Treatments You Might Not Have Tried Yet

It can be very frustrating to have to try lots of things to treat your menopause. You might have friends surrounding you that have found good treatment methods. They could even be pressuring you to try their chosen treatment methods. Try to remind yourself that they mean well. They only want to help you get better. Unfortunately not all of the menopause treatments out there work for all women. This is because every woman deals with menopause differently. The treatment that works well for your friend might not work very well for you (and vice versa). You should ask your doctor for help with your symptoms. Here are some of the things he (or she) might recommend.

You need to get at least thirty minutes of exercise every day. Whether or not you want to believe it, exercise is a really effective treatment for menopause. Osteoperosis and cardiovascular disease and other problems associated with aging can all be treated with regular exercise. Exercise also elevates your mood and can help you sleep better at night. Endorphins help you feel better which makes it easier to fight against the symptoms of menopause. Exercise is also very effective in helping keep your stress levels low.

Vitamin E intake should be increased during menopause.

There are no reports of Vitamin E being bad for you. A dose of Vitamin E on a regular basis can reduce the intensity of Hot flashes. As with most herbal remedies, studies on this menopause treatment remain largely inconclusive. Should you choose to increase Vitamin E intake it is recommended that you eat more foods high in the vitamin. This is because the vitamin E contained in food is easier for your system to absorb than the vitamin E that is contained in a dietary supplement pill.

Obviously, if you are going through menopause you should not smoke. Smoking is always a bad idea, no matter what is going on in your life. The beginning of withdrawals won't be pleasant but in the end, quitting nicotine is a very effective menopause treatment. Women who don't smoke don't get as many hot flashes. If you smoke you will probably go through menopause earlier than your non-smoking friends. Get rid of the cigarettes!

Treating menopause is not a universal activity. There is no one treatment that will work on every woman. Many women decide that the best way to deal with all of the symptoms of menopause is to combine the major types of treatments: lifestyle, herbal and medicinal. There are, however, some women who decide to only use one kind of treatment. There are also women who insist that menopause is not happening to them. You will figure out what works well for you. Do make sure, however, that any menopause treatment that you are thinking of trying is cleared with your doctor. A health professional's approval is vital for every treatment plan. You could end up doing bad and not good.
