subject: The Low Calorie Diet: The 2nd Day [print this page]

Day one on the low calorie diet has come and gone. Since most of the foods on the diet are fresh foods I had to head out to the grocery store again already. (My kids ate all my apples). But that's good, right?

This morning I dragged myself out of bed and got on the scale. Normally this would not be a HAPPY way to start off the day, but I lost almost 6 pounds! Wahoo! I went from 171 to 165.2...overnight! That's amazing. I figure this is going to be one of those drop drastic and then stay static for a few days as they warned in the handbook, but I'm still ecstatic over that moment when I saw the drop register on the scale. It was amazing.

So today's Saturday; the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I realized this morning that there were a few things that I wanted to get during the biggest shopping weekend of the year (at least I missed the biggest shopping DAY of the year; Black Friday gets a bit crazy). I took my B-Total and HCG drops and then started getting things around the house ready so we could spend the afternoon shopping.

I took my drops again and had the kids get ready to go. I had some leftover fish for lunch along with a tomato (the Shake and Bake Tilapia saved really well). I threw my apple in my purse for later. The kids asked if they could get Kids Meals in town so I whisked them off to the car and headed out.

Once we arrived at the mall we hit a couple stores and got everything done on my list within the first 30 minutes or so (I'm just that efficient when it comes to shopping). But I did forget to get the kids their kids meals on the way to the mall. Dang it! So we ended up visiting the mall's food court. This was a massive mistake on my part. I absolutely crash landed when I found myself surrounded by my daughter's plate of Panda Express and my son's array of Chick-Fil-A. I totally ended up having some from both of them; I even used the Chick-Fil-A sauces. It was horrible (and wonderful at the same time). Note to self: avoid the mall food court when on 500 calorie diet.

So it's only the second day and I've already broken the diet protocol. Dang it! But I did get right back on track. I came home and had a romaine salad, took my drops, slapped myself on the wrist and promised myself the punishment would be worse the next time I fell off the wagon. Hopefully I'll be better behaved tomorrow.
