Interesting enough, many people began to call the rackmount powerstrip a PDU or power distribution unit. In addition to rackmount, many vertical powestrip models were enhanced to be compatible with 20 and 30 amp applications.
Enhancements have made to both the rackmount powerstrip and vertical powerstrips that allow a tech to access it remotely even to the point of turning individual receptacles on or off for specific applications. Newer features include the ability to monitor amps, volts, heat, humidity and other important data at the server rack level or remotely.
Rackmount powerstrip was originally named as RacSense and the new name for rackmount powerstrip is Geist. RacSense rackmount powerstrip provides best premium off the shelf power distribution unit.
