Many of us like to collect shells from the beaches. Here in Corfu at a distance of approximately 2 km from Benitses you will find a museum that houses special collections of shells from the sea, fossils of fishes, corals, and teeth of sharks, sponges along with other marine remains. It is managed by the family of Mr Napolean Sagias who founded the museum.

The museum has one of its shells costing around twenty two thousand USD. It has Haliotis iris, the prettiest of all the shells in the world and a heavy shell called Tridacna Gigas which has weight of 65 kilograms.

If you are fond of fishing then you must go to the traditional village of Benitses. It has beautiful beaches with clean water and captivating mountains.

Tourism is the chief occupation of the people of this village. There are many shops, a few internet cafes, small hotels, restaurants, night clubs and resorts in this village. You will get delicious Chinese food to eat here. The bars here are more often visited by couples.

Enthralling beaches here are numerous and hold the attention of wide number of people to live in the place. Corfu is a place most favourable place for the growing of the wine grape. Mostly planted trees in this region are olive groves and vineyards. Even the average high and the low temperatures recorded in this region are 140C and 50C respectively. Wildlife is also on the high in this region.

For boating there are canoes and pedaloes. There is Aghii mountain and Stavros from where the spring waters flow smoothly making the place heavenly. People can climb up and see the springs.
