The Gothic cathedral of Burgos is dedicated to Virgin Mary and is considered one of the greatest treasures of Spain. The construction of this must-see treasure began in 1221 after the demolishing of a Roman cathedral that was built on the same site. In 1984, this cathedral was acknowledged to be a UNESCO world heritage site.
