subject: Hypnotic Memory Enhancement Builds Concentration, Retention, And Recall [print this page]

I would like you to meditate on this for a minute. As you sit there and read this article, a stream of information is coming in through your sense of sight. But you are also hearing various sounds, sensing physical feelings like the pressure of the chair against your buttocks and back, the touch of the clothing on your body, and the air temperature and movement on your skin. You are also in receipt of information via your nose in the form of aromas. And of course, you're receiving data in the form of the various tastes on your lips and in your mouth.

And what about the emotional feelings that you are presently feeling? That is also data that you're currently processing. We reside in an information intensive world. Thanks to the Internet, almost everything and anything that a person might want to know is only a few mouse clicks away.

Recently I read an editorial that said that even in a tranquil and peaceful setting, we are bombarded by sixty thousand stimuli per second. And that is occurring sixty seconds out of every minute, and sixty minutes out of every hour. And it goes on twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, week in and week out for the length of our entire life.

And happens to be a big part of the dilemma. We are all suffering from "information overload." And that makes it very tricky to memorize all of the data that we want to memorize or need to be able to remember.

Very often, as we are reading, we realize that our eyes have been traversing the sentences on the page, while our conscious mind has been off somewhere else on a tangent. When we get to the bottom of the page, we become aware of the fact that our eyes have seen the words, but we have no conscious recall of what we've just read. That is because our mind has been somewhere else worrying about a problem, or working out a scheme.

Today it is widespread to hear even young people state things like, "I'm having a senior moment." No matter what your age, and whether you are a student, part of the labor, or a retired senior, you know what I'm talking about. In our chaotic world it is very often extremely difficult to focus your concentration.

So which of the following scenarios is your problem?

A. Your mind begins to meander as you read, and then gradually you grasp that you have no idea what you've been reading.

B. When you are in a social situation and new friends are introduced to you, you find that you forget their names as rapidly as you hear them.

C. You remember that you have a chore to do in another room; however, as soon as you start to go to the other room you totally forget what that job is.

D. You can stay alert and understand new information. But when you take a test, "Test Anxiety" rears its ugly head and triggers a mental block, and you aren't able to bring to mind the answers to the questions on the test that you in actual fact know.

The largest cause of a person's inability to focus their concentration is that people are suffering from too much nervous tension. And the largest cause of a mental block to recall is also nervous tension. So it stands to reason that the more relaxed a person is, the better they will be able to focus their concentration, absorb information, and then be able to recall it at a later date.

Today, hypnosis and memory enhancement has become a popular topic. That is partially because hypnosis is a superb tool for causing a relaxed state. In fact, the very fundamental nature of hypnosis is relaxation. And as the mind becomes tranquil, the ability to stay focused increases. Similarly, a peaceful mind enhances the ability to retain information, and recall it when it is needed.

Hypnotic memory improvement is a wonderful modality for getting rid of test anxiety. There are several hypnotic techniques that can be used to program a person with a positive expectation of relaxation, confidence, and achievement while taking examinations.

Students can take a course on how to apply hypnosis easily and affordably in the privacy of their own home by ordering hypnosis CD's.
