Consider your budgetConsider your budget. If you're planning to join a commercial weight loss program, ask for a detailed statement of fees and costs of additional items such as supplements. Naturally, the less weight you need to lose, the less money you should spend.

And your lifestyle, too. If a diet for weight loss plan requires you to spend a lot of time in the kitchen but you're always on the go, then it probably isn't for you. Make sure that the program you select fits your lifestyle, as this is a key factor in your success.

Have fun! The weight loss plans that work are the ones that you enjoy, as you're more likely to stick to them. If you hate traditional exercise, try joining a cardio class that involves dance movements and great music. If you don't like the gym, work out by jogging in the park or joining a cycling club. If you like exercising in the comfort of your own home, invest in good workout DVD's.

Never give up. Try a weight loss program for at least 30 days to allow your body and mind to adjust. If you see results and like the program, then continue what you're doing. If you don't see results, feel deprived, or just hate the program, find another one. Sometimes you don't find "the one" right away, but the important thing to remember is to never quit. Soon enough, you'll be saying hello to a fit and fabulous new you!
