subject: Why Men Stray - What Stops A Man Being Unfaithful? [print this page]

Finding out your man has strayed is heart breaking, and one of the main causes of relationship breakdown. Lets look at the main reason why men stray, and if you want to save your relationship, how to make sure he only has eyes for you.

Generally speaking, men are an uncomplicated species, and there are only a handful of reasons that a man would be tempted to be unfaithful. Most women would probably list a hundred and one reasons that a man would stray, but there are only two core reasons why a man would look outside a relationship.

Almost all men are extremely susceptible to flattery, so when a man first gets involved in a relationship he loves the attentiveness of his new partner, he enjoys the attention of his mate and the tactile way she expresses her appreciation of him. The man likes the way there are no negative comments or actions and just wants more of the same. In short, the man wants to be admired. For the man, lack of admiration is one of the core reasons of relationship breakdown. As a relationship develops the woman will often no longer pay the kind of attention she did to her man. Arguments and negative comments chip away at the male ego, and he no longer feels admired or respected. Often the man will not even realise it himself, but when most relationships are stripped down to the basics, lack of admiration and respect from a partner would be the main reason why men stray.

Once the man no longer feels that he has the admiration of his partner, subconsciously or not, he will look for that admiration elsewhere. Even at the best of times, men are well known for not being able to express their feelings, and even within himself will probably not know the real reason why he feels the need to stray from a relationship.

If you want to make sure your man will only ever have eyes for you, always remember that most male egos are extremely fragile, and if a man feels his partner no longer makes him feel good about himself, he will look elsewhere to find the kind of attention that you once gave him.
