The first ever world cup of the Womens Rugby League was held in Great Britain by year 2000 along with the mens Rugby League World Cup. The first ever participants were players from Great Britain, France, New Zealand and Australia. It as Australia who hosted the recent 2008 Womens Rugby League World Cup that was supported by numerous sports companies and sponsors who especially believed in the talent of women in sports.
