subject: 5 More Ways To Save Money On Your Groceries [print this page]

Here's 5 more tips to save money on your groceries, I hope that the first 5 were helpful. These are tips that I have used personally.

Keeping your receipts and dockets - Keeping receipts and dockets is a really good idea because it gives you an accurate measure of what you are really spending. You can also enter the details into a spreadsheet and compare prices between different supermarkets. This will allow you to optimize your food spending budget.

Do your supermarket shopping online - If you buy your food online, it allows you to think before you purchase, you aren't seduced by the specials and you able to stick to your exact budget. Sometimes shopping online for food can be more expensive, but in the long run you will save money.

Buy frozen vegetables - Although fresh vegetables are supposed to be better for you, quite often they aren't. One thing is sure, they always go to waste. If you buy frozen vegetables they will be there when you need them, which means you can have vegetables whenever you want without having to buy fresh vegetables every week.

Cut down on meat - Meat can be really expensive, by eating 2 vegetarian dinner meals per week you can save at least 10% of your food bill. Research online about healthy and tasty vegetarian meals. Try different types of food that you may not have previously tried, you may be surprised.

Cook in bulk and then freeze - Freeze large amounts of food that freeze well and put them in small containers. You can spend a whole day cooking up meals and freezing them. Most things reheat pretty well, try things like Bolognese, macaroni and cheese, Indian meals like butter chicken and Curries etc...

I hope that these tips have helped you save money!
