Dog Bite Law

A dog attack can be severe, and when a dog is attacking with total strength, even a fully grown human can do little to defend themselves. In the minutes leading up to an attack, even moments before, a human being can easily overwhelm most dogs. Not through violence, but authority. Dogs are pack animals, and all but the most wild dogs are programed to obey mankind. By exploiting your physical authority in the pecking order, it is possible to head off a tough dog attack

For this reason, most dogs naturally obey human beings as a default setting. A dog attack is commonly because the animal is unnerved, or making a challenge on your power. In either example, observing these simple guidelines can help you spot the warning signs and calm the dog before it strikes.

Warning Behaviours

Every dog attack is set off by stress of some kind or another; fear, suffering, rage. By knowing how to read a dog, and recognise signs of strain, you have the power to quiet the animal down before the situation grows serious.

Signs of a Distressed Dog

Yawning

Licking the nose

Gasping with its tongue inside the mouth

Shunning of eye contact

Walking, or backing away from the situation. In this example, dont follow the dog it is likely to attack

Body Language of a Dog about to attack:

If you see the whites of a dogs eyes, it is very distraught, and about to attack.

The dog stiffens. It appears hyper vigilant, and on the brink of pouncing.

The hair above their rear or on the back of the neck will stand up.

The dogs body will lean forwards.

If you see the whites of a dogs eyes, it is very distraught, and about to attack.
