What To Do About Your Defiant Teenager!

Are you having issues with a defiant teenager

? You may be very well be feeling the pain of parenting. Here will be some very powerful positive parenting tips that you should be able to learn to vastly improve your situation.

Let's get right to it because I know as a fellow parent, your time is valuable, and your free time is very sparse. The first tip that can help you with your defiant teenager is to not beat yourself up over the things that are not turning out as you hoped they would.

This tip may seem simple, and maybe even silly, but if you have been stuck down in the doldrums of despair with this situation for a long time now, you may not realize how much this situation is affecting you and your entire family. No one is perfect, and no one deserves to feel bad about mistakes they've made. If you're not the perfect parent, that makes you like all the rest of us; just a human being!

Not to belabor the point, but if you don't truly do everything you can in regards to positive parenting tip number one, you may not be able to rise above the despair. If you don't rise above, you may not be able to find other tips that may be able to really help you. What To Do About Your Defiant Teenager!

Speaking of other tips that can help you, you've got to check this out. Other than not beating up on yourself, this is the best thing you can do. It starts with telling you this. The things you've been doing to try to control your defiant teenager can not work. There's a reason, but I'm sure it's not what you think.

When we yell or scream at, punish, or belittle our children, we cause them to have a biological reaction that in turn causes them to act out. For the complete story, go to my blog at positive parenting tips!

The short version is that the traditional forms of child discipline that we all use, cause fear and stress in our children. This causes cortisol to be produced in extra amounts by the adrenal gland. The result is they get disoriented and have to act out.

Two more very important points. Firstly, this is more reason to forgive yourself for trying and coming up short in your attempts to control your defiant teenager. Especially if you've been trying the traditional methods. Secondly, the long term effects of this cortisol can be dangerous. Teenage delinquency and sociopathic tendencies and behaviors can result.

So it's time to take action. If you'd like to learn about the roots of bad behavior, and how to stop them, check out this site!

No matter what you try to do, now that you're moving in the right direction, don't give up until you've gotten to the other side. Good luck, and God Bless!
