START A BUSINESS EASILY AND INEXPENSIVELY

Author: James Halm

You could buy a franchise. But it will be costly. You could buy an existing business. But that will also be costly and you would need to devote yourself full time to the business which may or may not be doable. You could do a business start-up be it brick and mortar or on the Internet. But you would be on your own in most cases. There would likely be a steep and extensive learning curve involved. The required costs just might be very large. And you would need to be a 24/7 nursemaid to it for up to five years. You could do something illegal. At least until you were caught and sentenced. Or you could find an alternative that would involve little up front investment and would be easy to start, grow and maintain. No doubt there are such opportunities somewhere. But there is one place where it is definitely easy to start, inexpensive, convenient and includes a huge marketplace. It is the world of online business. Find a way to be a part of the e-commerce reality and planet earth can become your oyster. OK, sounds pretty wonderful but obviously that is a lot easier said than done. Where to start? What to look for? Here are some basic guidelines. 1. Access to a Internet connected computer is required. Beyond that, there is no 8 to 5 workday, no commute and no supervisor looking over your shoulder. You can do research whenever time permits and you are only limited by your imagination and your interests in terms of businesses that are attractive to you. 2. Look for a way to earn residual income. In other words, see if you can get into a business that makes money for you when you are offline. If you can get cash in the bank while you are asleep, or on vacation, or at your day job, or just doing something else, that makes sense. 3. Locate an opportunity that will not, in fact, leave you to your own devices. Get into something that provides quality training, excellent support so that you can get all your questions answered and concerns addressed and gives you access to all of the resources that are required to make the business work successfully. Short of that and you could easily become the Lone Ranger. 4. Get involved in something that offers a variety of ways to generate an income. Avoid things that are single product or service which would restrict your ability to really earn money. Keep in mind, for example, that most tire stores also provide full auto repair service. And that a place like Amazon.com (most people immediately think books) sells apparel as well, just to mention one of many product lines available there. 5. Be realistic. It is easy to start the right kind of online business but making it successful requires work. As is the case with businesses that are both difficult and expensive to start, an online business will take some getting used to and some patience as well. Good things take time, as grandma always used to say. The bottom line: the easiest and least costly way to get into business for yourself is online. The largest marketplace is online. The growing trend in terms of doing business is online. In fact, the future of commerce worldwide will have an ever increasing online presence. How about you? Do not get left behind.
