Manali Tourist Attractions

Manali, which falls under the district of Kullu is among the most beautiful hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. Manali is known for its striking beauty and is at an alleviation of 2050 meters above sea level. The beauty of this hill station gets greatly magnified by the presence of the River Beas. There are many place of tourist attraction in Manali, some of the tourist destinations of Manali are:

Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa

Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa, this is a small Tibetan monastery in Manali. This monastery attracts large number of people because of its bright colours and lively surroundings. One can purchase many Tibetan artifacts from here which includes Tibetan carpets, durries and other items.

Hadimba Devi Temple

Hadimba Temple is located at a distance of approximately 1km from the main Manali. Dhoongri temple is another name which is given to the Hadimba temple. The temple is encircled by thick wood forests, the temple consists of 4-tier pagoda-shaped roof and beautiful mythological sculptures. You can also enjoy the yak ride over here.

Manu Temple

Manu Temple which is situated in Old Manali can be reached after half an hour trek. The temple enshrines Manu, who landed and settled down in Manali.

Vashisht Baths

Vashisht is a small village in Manali, it is situated on the bank of Beas River. The village is known all over for impressive temple which is dedicated to Lord Rama. The place is known for exclusive hot springs which are said to provide medicinal benefits.

Malana

Malana is a beautiful village across the River Parvati, it lies on the trekking route from Jari. It is a belief that this village was inhabited by the Greek descendants that came as Alexander's army. Malana is among those villages that have democratic assembly, which looks into the administrative matters of the village.

Naggar

Naggar is a well known Castle which is at a distance of 28 kms from Manali. This castle has now been transformed into a heritage hotel. Here you can also find Roerich Art Gallery which consists of paintings of the famous Russian painters and Uruswati Mueseum.

Uruswati Himalayan Folk Art Museum

Uruswati Himalayan Folk Museum which is situated in Naggar, is another great attraction. The museum is just 100 m uphill from the Nicholas K. Roerich Art Gallery. The foundation of this museum was laid down by Professor and Madame Nicholas Roerich in the year 1928.
